About
From her roots as a small town farm girl in Oregon, Sheli’s talent and sense of adventure has taken her around the world. Moving into the big city at 13, she was able to hone her natural talent in musicals, choir, and solo competitions. After high school, her first stop was Finland at Lärkkulla Folkhögskola, where she studied singing, piano, flute and drums. Next came, L.A. where she toured the USA and Japan with The Young American Song and Dance Company. The high seas called her name as she found her place in musical revues on cruise ships visiting the wonders of this world from Alaska, South and Central America, the Caribbean and Mexico to the Florida Keys.
Her heart brought her to Montreal where she discovered Pop and Jazz and performs with a number of top musicians. Also a professional actress and voice artist Sheli has appeared in, films, TV series, commercials and radio jingles. She recorded her CD, “Come Home” reflecting another of her styles and her folksy roots. Currently, Sheli performs with her band with a choice of pop, R and B, jazz, swing, and original music for private and public events. She also appears at renowned venue’s such The House of Jazz and Upstairs as well as being featured regularly with Paul Chacra’s 1945 The Band as lead vocalist.
Sheli’s other passion is teaching. Sharing her life experience of 30 years, she offers both private and small group classes to students of all ages and levels. Offering a holistic approach of mind, body and spirit her Stage Craft Singing Classes allows students to delve into every aspect of Vocal Performance with authenticity and imagination. Concentrating on Intention and Interpretation as well as Technique, Breathing and Movement, Sheli’s classes offers challenge and growth to students of all levels.
